On January 9, 2026, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, led a team of administrators, staff, and students to receive the host flag for the 52nd Thailand University Games from Associate Professor Dr. Chusit Pradabpet, Chairman of the University Sports Committee of Thailand, and Associate Professor Dr. Veerapol Thongma, President of Maejo University, at the opening ceremony of the 51st Thailand University Games, “Inthanin Games,” at the Maejo University Sports Center, Chiang Mai. The 52nd Thailand University Games, “Tumpang Games,” are scheduled to be held from January 21-30, 2027, under the theme “Spirit of Equality, Glory of Excellence,” featuring over 30 sports including compulsory sports, elective international sports, elective general sports, demonstration sports, and Thai sports.
